A new portable, handheld, ultrasonic flow meter from TTI can be used for a variety of applications including measuring water flow through a mold cooling circuit. The Portaflow-X uses the transit time difference principle to measure flow rates through circuits with diameters starting at .5 inch. The noninvasive system allows for multiple flow measurements of different running systems. The 3.3-lb unit offers an accuracy of ±.5% to ±1% of velocity typical on a calibrated system and can be used as either a stand-alone system or a backup for an already installed unit.
