A joint venture between Caco Technologies of Covina, CA and Protool AG of Switzerland is called CTI-PRO International. The partnership offers a miniature hot runner system for difficult gating applications. Before this system was available, molders that made difficult-to-gate parts or ran molds with tight cavity-to-cavity spacing could only use a hot-to-cold runner system.

The hot runner system can be used to direct-gate long tubular parts very near the parting line surface. The close pitch spacing of the system also provides the opportunity to design a compact mold, an advantage in high cavity-count programs. In addition to the miniature hot runner line, CTI offers a comprehensive hot runner product line including all conventional gating options, hot runner controls, and mold rotating plates for multimaterial applications.
