Gatorade recently presented its new 500 ml Gatorade "Kenny" PET bottle, which the company said was designed to make it easier to use when practicing sports.

Sacmi claims that the technology offers a more versatile design and offers more flexibility in regards to the choice and control of materials. In addition, the company claims that the MDO (Machine Direction Oriented) plastic printed label reel costs are "significantly lower than those of traditional TDO (Transversal Direction Oriented) sleeves." These are some of the features of the formsleeve+ modular labeler, the latest machine from Sacmi Labeling, which was presented in 2013.

Chosen by PepsiCo to manage all its new Gatorade format output for the Italian market - from 500 ml to 1000 ml PET bottles - this machine allows the producer to make and apply "full body" and/or "partial body" sleeves starting from MDO plastic reels at application rates of up to 40,000 bottles per hour.

Other highlights of the formsleeve+ technology include its simplicity of use, low maintenance costs and energy savings, ensured by smooth integration of the label making and labeling processes. Sacmi says that the use of a fully natural ambient-temperature liquid to seal the sleeve (this liquid never comes into contact with the bottle) ensures the healthiness of the entire process, eliminating any risk of product or workplace contamination.
