Speedy dryer now available in smaller size

You?ve seen the original Speedryer 2000 thermodynamic hopper dryer, which dries most plastics in 30 minutes or less with its heat-pipe technology. Now, there is the smaller Speedryer 1500 suited for injection molding machines of 75 tons or less. Like the 2000 (see March 1997 IMM, p. 149), the new dryer combines heat pipes with thermodynamic heat transfer, which assures quick, uniform drying of pellets. The dryer heats the pellets rapidly and then maintains a uniform temperature throughout the dryer, resulting in shorter drying times. It offers the equal performance of a desiccant dryer, but takes 1/4 to 1/8 the time to dry the materials. It can dry up to 20 lb/hour of most hygroscopic materials, with only a 30-minute startup.

The Speedryer 1500 features aluminum and stainless steel construction, a composite/fiber/epoxy sleeve, six unithermal heat pipes internal in longitudinal aluminum fins, fuzzy logic PID temperature control, and high and low audible/visual alarms. This 45-lb unit is 25 inches tall, 10 inches in diameter, and 15 inches wide . Electrical power is 240V a-c, 1.5 kW. It costs $4900.
