In efforts to strengthen itself in the marketplace, Weener Plastics (Ede, The Netherlands) is implementing a new corporate identity, relocating its headquarters and several name changes are going into effect.
“Today, WPPG is a market-leading global plastic packaging company offering innovative packaging to our customers from 24 operations in 16 countries,” states CEO Roel Zeevat. “The clear positioning and name change better reflect our company’s current structure and increasingly diverse and widespread global activities.”
A new ‘Clear & Clean’ corporate identity is being rolled out in all Weener communications and at its global facilities in the first quarter of this year. The company will have a unified name and logo that is a stronger representation of its identity and direction and will create clarity, alignment and uniform market positioning.
The corporate headquarters has been relocated from Weener, Germany, to Ede, The Netherlands. The strategy behind this move is that the new location is more accessible and is less than 100 km from Amsterdam Airport, which will help grow the organization and its international business.
Plasticum Netherlands BV has become Weener Plastics Netherlands BV, Plasticum Norwich Ltd. has been renamed Weener Plastics Norwich Ltd. and Plasticum Ilkenhans GmbH is now named Weener Plastik Ilkenhans GmbH. These name changes will be effective immediately.
“We look to the future with great confidence and are proud of our identity,” adds Roel Zeevat. “The core of our strategy remains unaltered. Weener Group will continue to develop innovative products and processes, maintaining a global presence whilst offering a customer oriented approach and consistently reliable service.”
Weener Plastics, which designs, develops and manufactures added value caps, closures and roll-on balls, as well as jars and bottles for the personal care, food and beverage, and home care market, has 24 locations in 15 countries and approximately 2,000 employees across the globe.
Last year, private equity firm 3i Group plc purchased Weener Plastic Packaging Group as a new portfolio company paying $277.3 million to buy the ownership stake from private equity group Lindsay Goldberg Vogel. Following on the heels of the acquisition, Weener Plastics acquired the shares of its joint venture, Weener Globalpack Indústria Plástica Ltda., in Jaraguá, looking to strengthen its Brazilian operations.
