Stephen Warren is Associate Director, Pharmaceutical Technology & Development, at AstraZeneca. He received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001. He has more than 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical development with a focus on inhalation technology and testing. In his current role, he manages the Extractables & Leachables program for AZ – Inhalation Product Development, which includes activities such as E&L studies, method development and validation, device development, change management, and regulatory submissions. As an E&L subject matter expert, he is Chair of AZ’s E&L Global Network and represents AZ as a member of Extractables and Leachables Safety Information Exchange (ELSIE) Consortium and International Pharmaceutical Aerosol Consortium on Regulation & Science (IPAC-RS) Materials Working Groups, where he works to advance understanding of the impact of E&L on product quality and process performance.
