Brückner Group demonstrates commitment to sustainability at NPE2012

Brückner Group, the German specialist in machinery and lines for production and processing of plastic film, ranks amongst the worldwide leading suppliers of production lines for high-value mono- and biaxially stretched film as well as first-class equipment for the manufacture of cast film and sheet. Known in the US as Brueckner Group USA Inc.a legal entity as of January 1, 2012 representing Brückner Maschinenbau, Brückner Servtec, Kiefel and PackSys Global—the company was present at NPE2012 with, among other offerings, new line concepts and sophisticated process technology for bio-based and sustainable packaging films.

According to Brückner, these have been developed as an answer to the trend in the market for more sustainable products and production processes. Among Brückner Maschinenbau customers, for example, renewably-sourced materials are increasingly being opted for over petroleum-based polymers. More and more, Bio-PE, Bio-PA, Bio-PET or PLA—materials with a low carbon footprint—are being applied in the manufacture of biaxially stretched packaging films.

As a leading player in the orienting film business, Brückner has been quick to respond by developing advanced layouts for new lines or the modifications for existing lines. Brückner has also developed especially adapted raw material handling systems, extruder screw design and other major components.

Styling these as “Effective solutions for an environmentally friendly production of plastics packaging,” the company showcased lines for processing bio-based and sustainable packaging films and innovative specialty films including lines for eco-friendly PET-G shrink film, special thin film, solar panels and LCD displays, and multilayer film, to name but a few.
