A new machine combines drying, hopper loading, and machine loading to create a closed loop conveying system for quick setup and manufacturing of parts within a cell. The Drymax 60-100-PDC portable drying and conveying system was created to handle small-machine part programs with minimum throughputs of 50 lb/hr. The dryer uses a twin desiccant bed design with high-capacity molecular sieves for closed loop drying. This configuration helps keep dewpoints at ?40F. The manufacturer says the microprocessor control is user friendly, and the PLC-controlled conveying package permits dryer hopper loading and closed loop conveyance of material to the machine. Jobs can be customized thanks to adjustable internal timers that are operated via switches. The conveyor package uses a single centrifugal blower instead of higher-maintenance brushes. The modular design of the vacuum loaders is said to allow fast, tool-free cleanout. Cleaning is further aided by the anodized aluminum center section and the polished chrome cone, cover, and mounting flange. These design features also alleviate corrosion and material contamination caused by flaking paint.
