Nitrogen generators keep oil out

Article-Nitrogen generators keep oil out

Designed for high-volume gas-assist injection molding, the NitroGenie is one of nine models of nitrogen generators offered from Pacific Consolidated Industries. NitroGenies are available in each of the three purities (95.5, 98, and 99.5 percent), and in each of three maximum outlet pressures, created by an internal oil-free booster (150, 4500, and 5500 psig). Each model produces a minimum of 10 cu ft/min of gas and is driven by a 35-hp electric motor.

Virtually all contaminants, hydrocarbons, and moisture are removed as the gas enters a series of special membranes. The gas is then pressurized to its working pressure. NitroGenie?s boost compressor has no oil, so it is not possibile to introduce oil into the output stream after the membranes. Its Teflon seal booster operates at very slow speeds to ensure long life. All components are housed under a tight weatherproof hood enabling the NitroGenie to operate in weather conditions from -40F to 130F. The units are priced at approximately 30 percent less than competitive units.
