Secondary ejection required? Accelerator provides solution

For injection molding processes that require two-step ejection to safely release a molded part from a mold, a new accelerated ejector system provides moldmakers and molders with a simple, space- and cost-saving solution. The hydraulic ejector pin accelerator unit can be placed in molds with very limited space. Its round configuration facilitates custom machining and assembly and allows easy installation. The accelerator allows shorter cycle times and increases production for new and retrofit applications. The units are available in three sizes to accommodate ejector pin diameters from 1/16 to 3/4 inch (1 mm to 20 mm).

Here?s how the system works: As the platen moves forward, all ejectors, including the accelerated ejector pin, move forward simultaneously. The surface plate of the accelerator then reaches the designated activation point. As the surface plate can no longer move forward, the hydraulic forces are activated and the acceleration of the ejector begins. The accelerated pin moves approximately .5 inch further out than all other conventional ejector pins. Pricing information was not provided.
