A €1 million expansion of the Shanghai Technical Center of Munich-based chemical group Wacker is now complete, boosting the company’s local customer support and research and development capabilities. The expansion of the technical center in the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park doubles the total floor space to 3400m2, and now houses more than 10 labs for Wacker’s silicone and polymer activities, serving growing market needs in industries such as personal and household care, coatings and adhesives, construction, and electronics.
The sales office and technical center are now located in the same facility, so the development and sales teams can improve collaboration to offer greater customer support. “Even though the economy is going through challenging times right now, Wacker’s commitment to the Chinese market remains unchanged,” said Dr. Peter von Zumbusch, president of Wacker Chemical Greater China. “We will continue to develop the existing local facilities and business here by making more investments in the coming years.” —[email protected]
