Winder boosts output for wider lines

The Model 2300 cast stretch-wrap winder has been altered with a new chucking mechanism that permits 3000-mm finished-roll widths at production speeds up to 460 m/min. This was accomplished without the need for a center shaft support found on competitive winders. It is seen as an economical, high-speed alternative to using two side-by-side winders. The alternative chucking mechanism increases line speed by reducing shaft deflection and shaft whipping, while previously limiting speeds to 300 m/min at this winder width.
