With a new, retrofit-capable batch tracking tool in the control unit, a processor can know when a batch was made and processed so that parts made from it can be tracked. The tool creates a type of logbook for all relevant processes of the batch?drying, metal separation, regrind added, and so on?without gaps.
Also at K, the company showed a new simulation model for bulk flow behavior of materials in hoppers that helps detect possible causes of defects such as excessive drying in the upline material preparation, and allows optimization of the drying and treatment process, including dwell time in the drying hopper.
