Yushin America?s popular HOP series sprue pickers has received a new controller that makes the picker easier to use, allowing operators to set up and operate with minimal training. This handheld controller features English diagnostic messaging and input/output display. It has memory for 15 mold setups and allows users to select from dozens of preprogrammed motion patterns, gripping methods, pickup and release positions, and other functions. This reduces programming time required for new molds. The controller?s new display presents error messages and other diagnostics and prompts. Other features include digital timers, counters for number of cycles and rejects, and a step mode that allows confirmation of the program and setup prior to engaging fully automatic operation. A prominent emergency stop button and deadman switch are also included.
In addition, the newest HOP III-M robot has been reduced in price and is now more affordable than earlier models, says Yushin. This high-speed sprue picker is available with main arm strokes ranging from 450 mm to 1000 mm for use on molding machines from 25 to 500 tons. It performs both part and runner removal, and can be equipped with nippers for degating. Specific pricing information was not provided.
