Electric drive optional on small machines

Article-Electric drive optional on small machines

A servo-electric screw drive optimizes press performance when a job requires a large volume of resin to be plasticated at low rpm rates. Available as an option on A-Series machines, the servoelectric screw drive reportedly offers fast cycles, low energy consumption, quiet operation, homogenous melt, high-quality melt processing, and minimized shear.

The optional drive is for the 14.2-ton Model 12A, 24.2-ton Model 22A, 33.7-ton Model 30A, 60-ton Model 55A, and the 100-ton Model 90A machines. Operating independently from the clamp and ejector functions, the electric screw drive speeds screw recovery. The operational savings generated by the servodrive reportedly allow for a return on investment on the new press in two years.
