Pressure sensor mounting cuts inspection time

Article-Pressure sensor mounting cuts inspection time

The 6155AE cavity pressure sensor has mold-mounting features that simplify between-run inspections and protect sensor wiring. Two mounting approaches enable quick inspection. The pressure sensor may be mounted by an adapter on the baseplate to permit separation of the mold insert without disassembly of the sensor. Alignment guide holes permit perfect positioning once the inspection is complete. A second approach for alternate mold configurations makes use of a sleeve to retain the sensor and eliminates complete disassembly.

Wiring vulnerability is high in complex molds where many cooling holes are required. This sensor uses single conductor wire that may be dressed and routed into the mold as opposed to exposed conventional coaxial cable that requires re-soldering when damaged.
