Injection molding: Automating assembly

Article-Injection molding: Automating assembly

The Distech DS1100 includes a seven-axis articulating robotic arm for unloading parts from trays to conveyors and reloading them. Its primary function is feeding parts to assembly operations but it can also be used as a compact machine tool loader. Previous generation DS1100s were equipped with four-axis, non-articulating robots. The manufacturer says it has retained the DS1100’s compact footprint by improving on the over/under conveyor design that delivers parts to a machine and takes completed parts or empty trays from the machine.
